The Villard plan is not like most of our plans. Traditionally, arts and crafts home plans do not have front loaded garages. That’s obvious as most people did not have cars back when these plans originated. However, we live in the here and now and cars (and garages) are a necessary part of life. We still like side attached garages or better yet detached alley garages. But some lots just can not accommodate those wishes. The Villard plan fits nicely into an Arts and Crafts neighborhood on a narrow lot. The open floor plan downstairs is more open that traditional bungalows but details can be integrated into the fireplace area to give that Arts and Crafts feel. The upper den gives a bit of overflow space for kids or could become a small bedroom. We do have a few variations of this plan (smaller and bigger) so let us know if you’d like to see those.
